Trip Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of up to 30% is required at the time of booking. This fee is not refundable since it covers the services in planning, coordinating, and managing your booking.

Final Payments

Final payment is due 91 days from departure.

Methods of Payments

  • Personal or bank check made out to First Light Safaris

  • Credit Card (currently an additional 4% fee)

  • Bank wire transfer (contact for wiring instructions)

  • Deposits can be sent through Venmo or Zelle

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be received in writing. Cancellations made within 0 to 90 days of departure will result in a cancellation fee of up to 100% of the trip cost. 

Trip Cancellation and Travel Insurance

It is a condition of booking, that the guests accept sole responsibility to ensure that they carry the correct fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover themselves, as well as any dependents or travelling companions. This insurance should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities: delay, cancellation or curtailment of the safari, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, personal injury, illness (including but not limited to COVID-19),loss of support, death and disability, hometown repatriation costs, consequential loss, damage/theft/loss of personal baggage, money, and belongings. Guests will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require and may find themselves in a position unable to access such services should they not be carrying the relevant insurance cover.

Safety

The accommodations offered by First Light Safaris are located in remote wildlife protected areas.  These accommodations are unfenced and are built in such a way as to allow guests enjoyment of the natural environment while allowing for the unimpeded movement of wildlife.  Safari activities will offer you opportunities to experience wild animals and nature up close.

The above present real dangers and risks to guests, including property damage, bodily injury, illness, or death due to the presence of wild, unpredictable, and dangerous animals.

Accordingly, participating in any safari related activity offered in these areas is done so entirely at the guests own risk. First Light Safaris shall not be liable to the guest or any of their dependents, spouse, life partner, children, travel agent, tour operator, tour organizer or intermediary that organized or was involved in arranging the travel activities for any claim of whatever nature or cause in connection with the provision of the services (whether in contract or delict) and whether for damages for personal injury, illness, harm, death or disability, loss of support, damages, and loss of property however arising, including acts of negligence.

Indemnity, Waiver, and Disclaimer Form

Upon arrival at the camp, lodge, resort, or other property within your itinerary, you will be required to sign an Indemnity, Waiver, and Disclaimer Form.

Rates and Fees

Nightly accommodation rates, park fees, conservation fees, community fees, camping fees, and other applicable fees are subject to change, without notice, as a result of increases in supplier costs, gas prices, currency fluctuations, and/or Government levies or taxes.

Medical

First Light Safaris can not offer medical advice. You and other members within your party are required to visit a travel nurse, family doctor, local health department, or other medical facility that is qualified to advise you of required and recommended vaccinations as well as addressing any concerns you may have about traveling to another country, and traveling with a pre-existing medical condition.

Covid-19

If you or another member of your party is unable to travel due to contracting Covid-19, there will not be a refund (though some trip cancellation policies offer “cancel for any reason” coverage).

Other

First Light Safaris cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred due to factors beyond our control. These include (but are not limited to): force majeure, war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, criminal activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics/pandemics, health risks, and changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type; closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, and any other similar event.
